This international course Cross-cultural studies on cognition and emotionis is organized in conjunction with the University of Oslo (UiO), Federal University of Pernambuco (UFPE) and the Oslo Metropolitan University (OsloMet).
The aim is to foster cross-cultural competence among master and PhD students regarding cross-cultural studies on cognition and emotions (including theoretical and methodological discussions), as well as diversity in academia, including potential social implications of building a diverse academic environment and conducting cross-cultural investigations. As the group will be culturally diverse, we aim to address questions such as the uniqueness of the culture which they come from, decolonizing science (critic on dominant Western source of knowledge). In addition, as students come from different departments – psychology, psychobiology and social studies – the colloquium also aims to discuss cross-cultural issues across different disciplines.
The classes will be Online in English, and will occur on Thursdays, from September 28 to November 30.
