The Laboratory of Archaeological Studies (LEA / UNIFESP) was created in 2011, by Cláudia Regina Plens, archeologist of the Department of History (UNIFESP), in order to promote teaching and research and projects about Material Culture studies. The undergraduate program in History at Unifesp has the peculiarity of the emphasis on the study of Heritage, with six disciplines being offered in the field of Archeology (Material Culture), Archivology, Museology, Built Heritage, Immaterial Culture and Memory and Heritage.
LEA has been developing several activities in teaching, training and research in Archeology, Material Culture Studies, Forensic Archeology, Forensic Anthropology, indigenous issues and Human Rights.
